Introduction

Our Mission

Our primary objective is to collect and analyze data for the development of cutting-edge models and algorithms that guide the future of solar energy solutions.

Current Projects

  • DAQ: This is an in-situ IV curve tracer that continually monitors solar fields to pinpoint sources of energy loss. Our role encompasses both data collection and analysis.
  • EPWC: Energy Producing Window Coverings is an in-house innovation. Our responsibilities include the development of tracking algorithms, data collection, and performance monitoring.

Key Challenges for Newcomers

You may initially find it challenging to grasp the specialized nuances related to solar technology, as well as the underlying physics involved in simulation and modeling. Adapt to the fast-paced nature of our work and be prepared to learn on the fly.

Skills

The following are skills that are important to acquire over the long term to be successful in our team.

  • Front-end Development: NPM, Node.js, Vue.js
  • Back-end Development: Koa, MySQL, and Google Cloud Run
  • Data Analytics: Python, numpy, pandas, scikit-learn
  • Domain Knowledge: A fundamental understanding of photovoltaic systems.

Team Structure

We maintain a close working relationship with the hardware team and report to Stefan Myrskog.

Contact Points for Queries

  • Human Resources: Hugo Navarro
  • IT Support: Sergio Batista
  • Application Support: Nicolas Martinez

Operational Workflow

Task Management and Code Reviews

Tasks are allocated during our weekly stand-up meetings. For customer-facing projects, we employ GitHub pull requests that require at least one approval.

Meetings Schedule

  • All-Hands Meetings: Held on Mondays
  • Team Stand-Up Meetings: Occur every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Wednesday we meet in person at the office

Resources and Communication

Slack serves as our primary platform for internal communication.

Team Culture

We convene in the office each Wednesday and maintain a Slack channel specifically for the sharing of articles and pertinent information. Open and spontaneous communication is highly encouraged.
